Mohamed Aden Hassan
Mohamed Aden Hassan, a professional with a PhD in Sociology, brings over 20 years of experience in Somali scholarship, advocacy, international development, and humanitarian assistance. His extensive background includes senior roles at prestigious institutions and collaborations on projects funded by major international organizations. Hassan’s leadership of the Rako Research and Communication Centre demonstrates his commitment to innovative and effective solutions in this field. Furthermore, Hassan is interested in research and communication related to diaspora, migration, masculinity, belonging, development, governance, and strategic leadership. He has a keen interest in exploring innovative approaches to research design, data analysis, and project management, particularly in the context of international development.
Amal Ali
Amal Ali, with a PhD in Law and an LLM in International and European Law, offers a unique blend of legal expertise and practical experience in development work. With over 10 years of managerial experience, Ali has a comprehensive understanding of the humanitarian and development landscape across the Horn of Africa region.Ali is specializing in international law and cross-border trade. She has worked with international organizations, governments, and corporations on projects related to petroleum, renewable energy, financial services, and logistics. Ali is also involved in academia, serving on the Board of Trustees at the University of Hargeisa and as an online facilitator at the University of Lincoln. Her research interests include public international law, environmental law, European Union law, and critical studies.
Ahmed A Hassan
Ahmed A. Hassan is the Research Coordinator at Rako Research and Communication Centre. He is highly motivated to develop his skills and grow professionally, with confidence in his ability to generate innovative ideas for research, development, and marketing campaigns. Ahmed excels in communication, networking, team collaboration, and independent work, with a strong ability to multitask and deliver quality results under pressure.His work experience includes roles such as Customer Service Executive at BLME / NOMO BANK, where he managed customer onboarding and support, and as Office Manager at Star TV, where he liaised with senior management, managed projects, and maintained the company’s online presence. Ahmed also has experience as a Team Leader/Assistant Manager at Menzies Aviation, where he ensured safe and efficient aircraft operations.Ahmed’s educational background includes diplomas and certifications in aviation operations, systems engineering, and computer programming. In his current role, he collaborates with the director on research and development projects, supports team development, and coordinates with the research team to achieve project goals and deadlines.
