Amal Ali, with a PhD in Law and an LLM in International and European Law, offers a unique blend of legal expertise and practical experience in development work. With over 10 years of managerial experience, Ali has a comprehensive understanding of the humanitarian and development landscape across the Horn of Africa region.
Ali is specializing in international law and cross-border trade. She has worked with international organizations, governments, and corporations on projects related to petroleum, renewable energy, financial services, and logistics. Ali is also involved in academia, serving on the Board of Trustees at the University of Hargeisa and as an online facilitator at the University of Lincoln. Her research interests include public international law, environmental law, European Union law, and critical studies.
Amal Ali has joined the East Africa Fellowship at Rako. She is the founder and principal lawyer at AQN International Law Firm, where she provides legal consultation and representation to various clients. Ali is also engaged in academic roles, including lecturing and supervising research projects. Her recent research focuses on education for sustainable development, intersectionality, and human rights, with a particular emphasis on the Horn of Africa region.
